That's all folks

We just made our bus to return to Boston and are reflecting on the
last few days.

From Friday to Sunday we've been in Rome, Paris (does the airport
count?), Philly, New York, and hopefully soon, Boston! We can't wait
to get home, but could really use a vacation before returning to work
tomorrow ;)

Hope you have enjoyed the blog and we'll talk to you soon!

Basta.

Mile 25

NYC Marathon

The Five Boroughs know how to cheer on their runners. This was by far
the best marathon I've spectated - lots of international runners and
crowds, great music and street parties, and great organization and
information provided by the marathon organizers.

Erin finished just under 3:30. A stellar time, especially considering
our last few days.

Halloween in Brooklyn

Saturday we took the Megabus from Philly to New York. The bus itself
was awesome - it was a double-decker with large picture windows in the
ceiling.

We stowed our luggage at a hotel near the bus drop off, picked up
Erin's marathon race packet (and ate a bunch of free energy snacks),
and went our separate ways for the first time in two weeks. Weird!

While Erin went to visit friends and go to sleep early (to prepare for
the race), I went to Brooklyn to visit Jenny.

If you haven't been to Clinton Hill for Halloween, let me suggest you
try it sometime. They shut down the streets, set up bands, circus
sideshows, and haunted houses, and adults and children all come out in
costume to celebrate.

For my part, Jenny came up with an out of shape marathon runner. I
went around drinking beer and stretching all night telling people I
had a big day the next day. Meanwhile, the true all-star, Erin, really
did get up at 3:15 am to catch her ferry to Staten Island for the
start of the race!

Relaxing night at Mike and Beth's

The flights home were loong. The flight from Rome was delayed, we had
to run through CDG in Paris to make our connection, and the final
eight hour flight home was operated by Delta - yuck!

We were rewarded by a home-cooked meal and wine in Philly with
friends. See Kathy's foot in the pic below.
