Pienza in the distance

Yesterday's ride was particulaly grueling for two reasons. First, the
Lonely Planet cycling book we are using omitted the cue sheet and
elevation profile for our current ride. Thus, we had no expectation
for the level of effort required, or more accurately, we had less
strenuous expectations. Second, as Erin mentioned due in part because
the LP maps are terrible, and in part because we simply weren't paying
attention, we made a costly wrong turn yesterday that took us 7k up a
mountain :P

Pienza was a quaint small town where we stopped for lunch of hot
sandwiches and, as Erin mentioned, hazelnut gellato. We're still
developing our thoughts on Montepulciano as we decide to stay here to
wait out the rain or press on, by bike or bus.
